A little bit about Ms. Clark
I grew up in Charleston, WV. Everyday I miss the mountains, but I love the Gulf just as much! I did my undergraduate work at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in English Language and Literature. This past summer, I finished my Master of Sciences in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading and Language Arts at Florida State University. I know its a mouth full! I worked on faculty at FSU as a research assistant at the Florida Center for Reading Research before I started teaching in the classroom. There, I worked on developing intervention research trials for struggling readers. I worked daily with students grades K-3 to ensure that they received the instruction needed to master the standards. My first classroom was a second grade classroom at a charter school in Panama City where I was able to use the knowledge gained from my intervention research to help many struggling readers. I am grateful for my time spent in Bay county, but I couldn't be happier to now be teaching in my own community: South Walton! First grade has been wonderful so far and is definitely my favorite age to teach! I couldn't be happier to be at the best elementary school in the region! Go Butler Bears!
